We all have them – old items, sitting in the attic or closet, passed down by a cousin’s cousin, estranged fathers, or a mothers, sister’s brother.
We hold on to them because they are a part of our family and because, we hope to someday pass them along to younger generations – even if all they become is trendy décor, or dust collectors.
And we all hope that their history will someday tell a story.
We’re ready to hear it.
Does it make you laugh? Cry? Who gave you the piece, and what did they tell you about it? Whatever the details, The WGBH Lab, in partnership with PBS’s own Antiques Roadshow, wants to see your item and hear its story.
Showcase your piece in an original home movie or creative short film, no longer than 2 minutes. Be unique, and fun with your antique and its story. We want your video to dazzle our audience, and us as well. Your reward? – How about a pair of tickets to a live taping of Antiques Roadshow this summer?
From now, until the end of May, we will be awarding 3 video submissions with a pair of VIP tickets to attend a live taping of an Antiques Roadshow appraisal event.
Additionally, your video could be chosen by Antiques Roadshow for national broadcast at a later date, to be featured on their website, or chosen as a stand alone video short to be aired on PBS stations nationwide!
Please review our Eligibility and Guidelines for submission deadlines, and our Official Rules to make sure your video qualifies.
Then, dig out your treasure and get working on your video!

How Open Call Works?

You have the theme – now it’s time to create your video short. Your video must be complete, personal, and remain within the established time allowance, 1 – 2 minutes in length. We like fresh, new ideas, and we like them to be yours. Make sure you have the rights (and permissions) to the content featured in your video.

You will need to visit The WGBH Lab, click “Submit Your Video”, fill in the required information, attach your video file (accepted file formats include: .mov, .mp4), and you’re done! Now it’s time to get people to engage…
Please note, that if you are between the ages of 13- 17, check with your parent(s) or legal guardian(s) before you send anything to us. By sending in your video, and getting your parent’s/legal guardian's permission to do so, you are telling us it's ok to post it on our website, edit it and we can use it in any way we want, anywhere, forever and ever and we don’t owe you anything for that use. You are also telling us that your entry is your original work, you own or have permission to use every person, place or thing in your video, and that The WGBH Lab's use of the video will not infringe upon or violate rights of any third party.

We encourage you to create videos shorts that engage other storytellers and viewers, while capturing our attention and helping us decide what’s great, through voting, rating, and commenting within the site.
Not only is this your opportunity to tell your story, The WGBH Lab is also your community, and your voice.
