inspirational story for all human beings

Thanks for making such an inspirational story for all of us to reflect on...

Spirituality at work!

I agree, this is a nice piece on spiritual evolution and transcending differences. Keep it up Kimberly! I am certainly eager to see the longer version of the film.

I see a spiritual evolution

I gave it 5 stars because it portrayed a person expanding her faith by taking on another, as well as her helping others to reach beyond their differences to become united... this is very much inspirational and needed in today's world when many conflicts and bloodshed occurs over religion and cultural differences.

...Veil...

Fairly interesting human interest piece/short doc, but I'm not sure what it has to do with evolution. It is definitely a 'Life Story' though....I would have liked to have heard some self-critical analysis about how religion alienated her from others, or, perhaps how a religion divides as much as it unites...maybe some hint that the world might move (evolve) beyond such religions, one day.

The Colors of Veil

Love this subject matter -- excellent topic for more exploration.

want more details

Liked the film but wanted to see more about the personal life of this Muslim couple and how they interact together as a family. I do understand, though, all clips cannot exceed 3 minutes. Perhaps the filmmaker will show that in the long version. Overall, good job!

Really like it

Just like what others said about this short film, I am very touched by it as it makes me see Muslims in a better way and in different COLORS. We need to see more of this in America.

colors of veil enlightening

I really liked this intimate portrait of an American Muslim women. Great idea!

Colors of the Veil

This is a wonderful short film, and I agree a longer version would be interesting. There are so many Muslims living successfully in the U.S., working, raising families, helping the less fortunate, and making art. This film is witness to these lives, which are an important part of the American experience. We need more films like this one.

Kudos, Jehan Harney!

Excellent!

Excellent work Jehan, as usual! Keep it up!

The Colors of Veil... COOL

Interesting intercultural and multidimensional story with lots to learn about Muslims in America... not too preachy and very personal.

rare story

In America we usually hear negative Muslim stories... this one is rare and makes us see that Muslims do come in many colors and this one is eye-opening. I think many Americans would appreciate seeing a longer version of this. Great job!

A fresh take on muslims in America

The main character is refreshing and reveals an interesting color of Islam in America. I want to know more about her beginnings. This film can be very educational for others.

Peace to all, It is

Peace to all,

It is beautiful piece of life..:D. Congratulations!.

Colors of the Veil

Interesting young woman and a good story. We need to see that Muslims come in all colors.

colors of veil

It's a simple yet universal story, very well shot and with very good atmosphere. The chzracters are also really interesting,
Kudos!

Inspirational work

There should be more work like this on PBS. I would love to see the long version of this film... Something much needed today to understand Islam and Muslims in America.

Colors of Veil

Lovely story, lovely video. Interesting use of extreme closeups of part of the face. (I'm not sure about the up-from- the ground camera angle of her face though.) Important video for our time and for all times, which makes me want to ask Kimberly and her husband questions.
