what does this have to do with life?
what does this have to do with life and evolution, nature, science?
A broader definition...
Beyond the biology of Darwin's theory is the reality of OUR lives on this planet. We are born into and defined by complex, self imposed, social and political constructs that contribute to a collective human history. This video happens to be about America and Americans, politics, nationalism, race, ignorance, progress, aspiration -- and any other number of concepts -- in addition to the significance the past couple of years have had in our "American" history.
So "American Sample" may not be about DNA mutating and creating other species, but it most definitely is a story about life... and its evolution.
Not such a narrow definition...

So no, it may not be about single cells splitting and creating other species, but it most definitely is a story about life. And evolution.

Perhaps...
...this has to do with the evolution of American culture and the fact that as little as 10 or 20 years ago, our chances of electing a minority into the presidency were virtually nil.
Perhaps...
...it's more about the evolution of American culture?
