FAQ

Open Call is an invitation for you to produce a video short story based on one of our evolving themes, and share it with the world.

The Lab may even license your short to air on TV in conjunction with an upcoming PBS premiere or as interstitial programming to air on public media stations nationwide.

This is your opportunity to make your voice heard!

The WGBH Lab is here to help and offer advice to get you started. We even provide open content media clips you can use to make your video!

All WGBH Lab Open Calls are inspired by public media content initiatives, topics or programs. This Open Call is inspired by a series of NOVA films on Darwin and evolution that will air this fall and winter on PBS, including:

DARWIN’S DARKEST HOUR: TRAGEDY, TRIUMPH, AND THE BIRTH OF A NEW IDEA
Premieres Tuesday, October 6 at 8 pm ET/PT on PBS

www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/darwin/n

BECOMING HUMAN: UNEARTHING OUR
EARLIEST ANCESTORS
Premieres Tuesdays, November 3, 10, 17 at 8pm ET/PT on PBS
www.pbs.org/nova/becominghuman

We will begin accepting submissions on the website in September, 2009. In the meantime, please register with The WGBH Lab to join our community and receive information on future Open Calls.

Also, join us on Facebook or follow our Twitter feed.
We’ll keep you updated!

After you submit a video, it will be posted to The WGBH Lab Community Review, our online community that will view, vote, rank and share thoughts on your story.

If you are not already a member of our online community, please register now so that you can participate, and receive up to date information on all of our Open Calls.

Social Production is an opportunity to engage with other storytellers and viewers, while capturing our attention and helping us decide what's great, through voting, rating, and commenting on other shorts.

This is your story, your community, and your voice, so get out into the provided forums, discuss your short and others, and share your story with the world!
