Why did you answer the Lab's open call?

Educating audiences about the history and diversity of the LGBT community has been an important element of my work over the course of my entire career. The Open Call was a wonderful opportunity to continue and expand that work. More on The Youth & Gender Media Project: www.imjustanneke.com

Tell us about the first time you made a video or film

I was nine years old and made a little super 8 film with my sister and our friends about children with magical powers.

Would you like to tell us your plans for your new prize?

I will spend some of it on post production expenses to prepare the film for broadcast. I plan to donate the rest in support of LGBT youth.
