So, you've submitted a Life Story, or maybe you're planning to submit, but aren't sure when. What now?
Now is the time to submit, and get people to comment on it, because The WGBH Lab is "Sweetening The Pot" for you.
Throughout November, we will be giving away one (1) iPod Nano (the “Prize”) to each of three (3) people who submitted videos that have the most comments.
That's right, people talk about your work - you win.
Official Rules and Prize Details:
• Here's the deal: You submit to The WGBH Lab Open Call: Life Stories.
• You’re eligible to participate if you meet the Eligibility and Guidelines.
Submissions must be received by the following deadlines:
Entry Period #1 and selection of winner
• Life Stories video submissions must be received prior to 11:59 PM (EST) on November 16th, 2009.
• The person with the video with the most comments as of 11:59 PM (EST) on November 23rd, 2009, will receive (1) iPod Nano.
The winner will be notified by e-mail on or about November 24th, 2009*.
Entry Period #2 and selection of winner
• New Life Stories video submissions received between the period beginning at 12:01 AM (EST) on November 16th, 2009 and ending at 11:59 PM (EST) on November 23rd, 2009
• The person whose video receives the most comments as of 11:59 PM (EST) on November 30th, 2009 will receive (1) iPod Nano.
The winner will be notified by e-mail on or about December 1st, 2009*.
Entry Period #3 and selection of winner
• New Life Stories video submissions received during the period beginning at 12:01 AM (EST) on November 23rd, 2009 and ending at 11:59 PM (EST) on November 30th, 2009
• The person whose video received the most comments as of 11:59 PM (EST) December 7th, 2009, will receive (1) iPod Nano.
The winner will be notified by e-mail on or about December 8th, 2009*.
Entry Period 1, Entry Period 2 and Entry Period 3 are collectively referred to as the Entire Entry Period. Limit one video submission entry per person for the Entire Entry Period.
*Each winner will be notified on the date set forth above, and will have five (5) calendar days to respond. Each winner must accept or decline the Prize within five (5) calendar days of notification. If any winner is unreachable after five (5) calendar days, or if a winner is unavailable for prize fulfillment, an alternate winner will be selected at random. Each winner will be required to sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility and a Liability/Publicity Release Form within fourteen (14) calendar days after prize notification. Failure to return the affidavit in the time noted will constitute forfeiture of the prize and an alternate winner will be selected.
Requirements for all Submissions:
Remember, We are looking for videos that capture "life". Happy, sad, pretty much any emotive... just as long as it's organic, it's nature, and it's life.
You can't win, if you don't submit video, but everyone can comment- so encourage those you know to review, submit, comment, or vote!
Comment requirements:
While the opinions expressed in the Comments Section of The WGBH Lab website are those of the writers/ contributors, they do not necessarily represent the views or opinions of the WGBH Educational Foundation.
• All comments must come from real people, and not from spam robots.
• All individuals who wish to provide comments must register with The WGBH Lab and have a valid email address.
• Individuals who provide comments are asked to be respectful to the media that is posted to The WGBH Lab and that they engage in robust dialogue and stirring convention by asking questions.
Other Important Points:
Approximate retail value of each prize is $149. The prize is not redeemable for cash nor is transferable. All taxes on each prize, including but not limited to Federal, State and Local Income and sales taxes, and any expense not covered herein (including but not limited to expenses related to the use of the prize) are the responsibility of the winner(s).
All Federal, State and Local laws and regulations apply. Void wherever prohibited or restricted by law.
Odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received. Entry constitutes permission (except where prohibited by law) to use the winner's name, hometown, likeness, and submissions for publicity purposes without additional compensation.
By entering, entrants acknowledge compliance with these official rules including all eligibility requirements and agree to abide by and be bound by these rules and decisions of WGBH, which shall be binding and final in all respects relating to this giveaway. WGBH is not responsible for failures in technology such as but not limited to: technical malfunctions, lost/delayed data transmission, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, line failures of any telephone network, computer equipment, software, inability to access any Web site or online service, or any other error or malfunction, or late, lost, incorrect or inaccurate transcription of entry information, or for any human error, or misdirected entries.
By entering, you hereby release and hold harmless WGBH, its employees and its agents (the “Released Parties”) from any liability arising from or in connection with participation in this contest, including injury, loss or damage, with respect or related to the receipt or use of any prize awarded or any Released Parties’ use of any of the rights granted or any entry submitted herein. WGBH makes no, and disclaims, all warranties, guarantees or representations, express or implied, concerning the condition, quality, merchantability, of any prize.
