Step 1: Produce Your Story

After reviewing our Guidelines and Eligibility information to ensure that you're old enough, you don't work for us, you're a US citizen, and you own the rights to your story, go forth and produce your short!

Here are some tips and resources to kick-start your process:

  • How do you, buy a good consumer camera?
  • How do you, use open content clips?

Step 2: Upload Your Short

You must have permission to use all of the creative elements contained in your submission, and are free to license them to The WGBH Lab for distribution.

Before you upload, please review and accept The WGBH Lab terms of use to make sure that you're cleared in the following ways:

  • Use archival footage only if you have permission or if it's public domain. We have some footage you can use
  • Use music only if you have permission or you make it! We would love it if you made it!
  • You're able to certify that the completed work is original, and no other person or entity holds rights to the entry
  • You're able to certify that the completed work has had no prior cable, network or public television broadcast in the US
  • You're able to license the short to WGBH for online and broadcast distribution
  • And finally and most important, you plan on having fun, while making your original creation!

Step 3: Community Review

After you submit a video, it will be dynamically posted to our online community review. The WGBH Lab online community, which your now a part of, will review your short and share it with the world.

The online community will be able to vote, rate, and comment on completed video shorts. We need your help in deciding what's great. The highest rated shorts will capture the worlds attention.
