    Your story must be:

    • Complete, as in finished
    • Personal, we like personal stories
    • Short (3 minutes max)
    • Fresh showing us something different from your perspective
    • Yours meaning that you either own it or have permission to use it, and are free give WGBH distribute it online and on television -that includes music and archival footage, too

    Feel free to explore new genres, original concepts, alternative points of view, visually driven story lines, and other less conventional story forms.

    Be funny, provocative, and educational. Most important, be creative and have fun.

    Eligibility:

    Almost anyone with something to say about our current theme can participate in the Lab's Open Call. To submit your completed video short, you:

    • must be at least 18 years of age
    • must be a US resident
    • cannot be an employee of WGBH

    A special note to Instructors in Grades K-12
    The WGBH Lab wants to see shorts from your classroom! Instructors are encouraged to submit content for our current Open Call, on behalf of their class.
    We ask that you acknowledge our Terms of Service, and ensure that all participants involved, and content you produce are cleared within our guidelines.

    You must be able to:

    • certify that the completed work is original, and no other person or entity holds rights to the entry
    • certify that the completed work has had no prior cable, network or public television broadcast in the US
    • grant The WGBH Lab permission, to distribute your completed short in all manner and media to include, the world wide web and broadcast and cable television
